Spain is the state of the Southwest of Europe, in the Iberian Peninsula, sharing the peninsular territory with Portugal. For the north it borders on France and on the Principality of Andorra. Also they are part of Spain, the Balearic Islands (Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza) in the Mediterranean Sea, the Canaries (composed by seven islands and several islets) in the Atlantic Ocean and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla in the African continent.

After Switzerland, Spain is the most mountainous country of Europe. It possesses five big mountain ranges that cross it and almost 50 % of his territory settles on plateaus. His coasts are washed to the east by the Mediterranean Sea, on the West by the Atlantic Ocean, and on his North coast by the sea Cantabrico.

From 1978 it is a Constitutional Monarchy organized in seventeen autonomous regions, in addition to two autonomous cities, Ceuta and Melilla. The communities have been provided with legislative autonomy and executive competitions, as well as with the faculty to be administered by means of their own representatives.

Spain, the second tourist destination of the world, is a country full of contrasts, with his natural sceneries of extraordinary variety, happening from desert areas up to the most green fields, where mountains, vales, rivers and beaches cause a big climatic diversity.
